Maximus Headline Open Day in The UK With New MXJ-1100G Jaw Crusher

In Latest News by admin / November 6, 2017 / 0 Comments

The Future is Bright & The Future is Red #MAXIMUS

In October 2017 we Maximus Crushing & Screening hosted an open day with and a specially selected audience were invited to the UK open day held in North East London. Over 70 people attended the open day and live demonstration at Camden Environmental’s 25acre site located in North East London. They all came to explore the Maximus range and get up close and personal with the new MXJ-1100G Jaw Crusher, the star of the show.

We’re delighted to have the new Maximus MXJ-1100G Jaw Crusher here today as we believe that this machine is a game changer for the crushing and screening industry. It features a Cummins 6.7 engine connected to a specially designed gearbox that delivers direct drive to the crusher, and takes 97% power from the engine. A traditional hydrostatic system would only give around 74% power, meaning that we gain around 24% more power on this crusher.

This direct drive system allows us to drive the crusher in forward and reverse and features an anti-blocking system which is especially useful when you are crushing tarmac, as the operator can quickly ‘joggle’ the crusher to clear the jaw box of any blockage. This ‘joggling’ means that the jaw box can be moved forward and backwards instantly and very quickly to unblock it. This new MXJ-1100G Jaw Crusher also runs on around half the fuel compared to a standard hydraulic system, using around 18litres of fuel per hour, so this is a huge saving for the operator.

The jaw box features an automatic hydraulic release system which means that if any un-crushable material enters, it won’t damage the jaw box, as once a certain pressure is reached the hydraulic rams will open the jaw and ‘dump’ all the material out of the bottom. The system then resets itself to the correct Close Side Setting (CSS). The system also monitors the wear of the jaw plates, so when very abrasive material is used, the system is capable of resetting itself every 20hrs, meaning that the jaw plates will touch and then open back out to the correct CSS. On this model we also offer an optional pre-screen allowing customers to take out a rough sellable product.

With a working demo area running live every hour for visitors to enjoy, we had the MXJ-1100 Hydrostatic Jaw Crusher and a 516 Scalping Screen working. Providing satisfactory work for new customers.

Iain Herity, Sales Director for the UK was keen to say “We’ve been delighted with the quality of customers who attended our very first customer open day and the feedback has been phenomenal right across our Maximus line-up. I’d also like to thank Mick Mariner from Camden Environmental for the use of his site here in London, it has been a perfect setting for a very successful event.” Iain Herity has also opened a new site, located at 1 Kitsmead Ln, Longcross, Lyne, Chertsey KT16 0EF.

Hubert Watson, Global Sales & Marketing Director had some more exciting news “As part of our global brand promotion we’ve now teamed up with the Discovery Channel and GOLD RUSH. The Hoffman crew will be using a Maximus TFC-80 Swivel conveyor in the new series 8 of the show. We wish them well in finding lots of gold!”

Maximus team up with Gold Rush

In Latest News by admin / February 15, 2017 / 0 Comments

In 2015, Maximus North America set the “gold standard” for the mobile crushing and screening industry by introducing the Irish-based Maximus Crushing and Screening product line into North America. This statement proved to be true and ironic when one of the stars of the Discovery Channel’s hit TV show “Gold Rush” noticed the bright red Maximus MXJ-1000 Jaw Crusher at an industry trade show in 2016.

Dave Turin oversees mining and production for 316 Mining LLC, otherwise known as The Hoffman Team, a successful Oregon-based mining group run by Todd Hoffman. Dave stopped by the Maximus North America stand as he was leaving the trade show because the quality, fit and finish of the machine caught his attention and he was interested to see whether there might be any synergies between the 316 Mining Team and the Maximus brand.

Stu Gamble, president of Maximus North America, and a few of the MNA dealers struck up a conversation with Turin about the product line and it was discovered that Maximus did indeed have a machine in their product line that could fit in the gold mining operation.

Turin explained to Gamble that they were facing a challenge with replacing the mined dirt back to its original state in a cost-effective manner in their current mining location. Gamble suggested that they use the Maximus TFC-80 360-degree swivel-feed hopper stacker. The machine could track remotely over rough terrain while swiveling side to side, distributing the dirt in a much wider track. This would effectively decrease the amount of labor and time expended on returning the dirt to its original contour, thus providing the Hoffman Team an advantage in having more time to mine for new gold.

While in conversation, it was also discovered that the Maximus TFC-80 would have another use at the mine – the 316 Mining Team’s set up at the time included a trommel screen that could separate material but did not have a hopper, which would allow material to be fed into it. The Maximus TFC-80 has the capability of remotely operating on a 90-degree angle. This innovative technology would allow the Hoffman Team to feed pay dirt directly into the hopper on any terrain angle which then would feed directly into the trommel that the team was using to separate the rocks from the fines of the pay dirt.

Turin was intrigued with the equipment and invited the Maximus team to meet with him and Hoffman in Oregon to further plan using the machine at the gold mine to increase efficiency and productivity for the Hoffman Team. Hoffman agreed and was excited about how this equipment could reduce time and labor and would be a multi-use benefit to the mining operation.

When the machine arrived on site, the top priority for 316 Mining was to return the dredged land back to its original condition after the gold was mined and the Maximus TFC-80 accomplished this goal.

In the world of gold mining, there are very few things that are predictable. Adverse weather conditions, rough terrain, the threat of wild animals always very real and present, and the hurdle of mounting expenses with no guarantee of a pay out all could very well turn away the average miner to give up their dream of finding real gold.

Maximus North America will welcome the 316 Mining Team to its booth at ConExpo-Con/Agg 2017 in Las Vegas and would like to invite everyone to stop by for autographs and to speak with Turin about his experiences with the Maximus product line. The TFC-80 stacker will be displayed on Silver Lot 1 at S5007

With the first month of the year over, Maximus Crushing & Screening are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Iain Herity as Sales Director for the South England Market.

Iain is synonymous with the success of Extec over 20 years in England where he, together with his sales team, took an unknown brand to become a key market leader.

“Iain is joining the Maximus team at an exciting time for the business. With a lot of new developments under way the future is very bright here”, Said Hubert Watson. “I have known Iain for almost 30 years now and indeed we fought each other as competitors during his 20 years in building the Extec brand. I am delighted that we have managed, after all these years, to finally come together as one team under the Maximus brand, which is very extensive indeed and includes full range of crushers, screens, conveyors and sand washing solutions.
Maximus are very like Extec. We are an independent manufacturer with great knowledge of the industry and have developed very strong relations with end users. Decisions to help the customer can and will be made immediately to the benefit of the customer.
Welcome on board your journey Iain! We look forward to working with you and your team that you will put together over the coming weeks and have no doubt that you will develop the Maximus Crushing & Screening brand”.
